A must-see! La Cité de la Mer. Housed in the former transatlantic station, this unique site takes you back in time to thehistory of the great ocean crossings and the exploration of the deep. Through a number of exhibition spaces, follow in the footsteps of the Titanic, explore a life-size nuclear submarine (Le Redoutable) or marvel at the abyssal aquarium, one of the deepest in Europe.
Children will love the interactive area dedicated to the oceans, and the more curious can even try out a virtual diving simulator! The immersive scenography will delight the whole family.

Before or after your visit, take the time to stroll around the marina, or the shopping streets of the town center. The view from Fort du Roule, perched high above Cherbourg, is also well worth the detour.
Other not-to-be-missed attractions include the D-Day landing beaches, 45 minutes away, and the magnificent Mont-Saint-Michel, around 1 h 30 from the campsite.
The Cap de la Hague is a veritable natural treasure trove, with spectacular sites to explore: the Nez de Jobourg, the Baie d’Écalgrain, Sciotot beach, the Goury lighthouse and the Anse de Vauville. Among these treasures, the Nez de Jobourg stands out for its vertiginous cliffs, among the highest in Europe, culminating at 128 meters. This emblematic site of the Cotentin region offers a breathtaking panorama.
Here, at the very end of the world as the locals like to say, you’ll be won over by the raw, authentic beauty of the landscape: 360° views, turquoise coves, infinite horizons over the sea, and unique vistas of the Channel Islands and the great tides.
